About Us
How we began
Eric and Mark Salgat are third generation builders who grew up in the Flint, Micigan area, building homes with their father throughout the 1970's and 1980's. Upon high school graduation, Mark moved to Naples, Florida, while Eric remained in Flint. The brothers continued to build through the early 1990's when they both married, at which point they relocated their families to Traverse City and formed S&S Contractors. Their working knowledge of various building trades gives them the insight needed to ensure excellent craftsmanship in each project.
Our Company
Eric and Mark are Christian men who have built their company around the virtues of honesty, hard work and service. Most of their employees have been with the company for many years. Their team includes a framing crew of six men and an office manager. The small size of the company allows for more personalized attention. The company also works with experienced subcontractors who share in its philosophy of providing a top quality product. The company has gained recognition from the Grand Traverse Building Association, receiving awards for suberb craftsmanship in various homes built as a part of the annual "Parade of Homes." Eric and Mark have a genuine desire to work with the needs of each customer in order to create a positive building experience and produce a final product that everyone will be excited about.
